How should I have reacted to this? ?

As a mom of a teen, I would have felt sympathy, for a moment. But-then honestly, I would be appalled. I wouldn't throw a fit or anything, but discuss the situation, why, what,when-did he do it to impress his friends, or just something he thought of himself?? Yes-it does matter-kids will do things they don't normally do to impress others. But-I would ume he learned a good lesson, and at 14-didn't we all do ridiculous things?? The common sense factor is just not there yet, but I can guess he is a little closer to it!!!
