Do girls accept men with a scar on their face?

i am a 25 yr old guy .i have a big and ugly scar on my left cheek ( a result of an accident in my childhood).... else i am good looking,intelligent,well built, from a well to do family,etc ....since childhood people jealous of me have made ugly remarks about my scar(especially during quarrels ,even when i am not at fault) which has really shattered my confidence.....this has made me very wary of rejection by girls.....ive never approached a girl.....normally i couldve accepted rejection...but with this scar ,a rejection by a girl could really send me into serious depression......my friends keep askin me about my gf and i have nothin to say which makes me further depressed.....what should i do?
